How Amanda got started,
"I wouldn't be what you consider a "risk taker", I have spent most of my life playing by the rules and following the script of consumerism and the rat race mentality. I was content to spend my days working endless hours for someone else at the expense of my mental health and general well being.
When quarantine hit and we stayed home for the recommended three weeks I learned a lot about myself and my desires, the things that made me happy and how to revel
in contentment I went back to work, and although I truly enjoyed the people I worked with my soul ached, longing for the days of quarantine where I spent my time reading, writing, gardening, cooking, organizing, creating, and truly for the first time ever LIVING my life. Cue, getting sick and having more time to reflect on what's important in life. After three days in bed I knew what I had to do, it was time to take my life into my own hands.
Creating body products has always been a passion of mine, but until now I have just created them for myself and a few friends. It has always filled me with joy, so I decided it was time to share my joy with the world. I am going to open my own business and make and sell my body products. I took the time to sit down and consider how I would structure our business, what was important to me, how to prioritize my goals and ambitions, and although, after years of bookkeeping I felt confident I could run my business I wasn't so sure I could market myself, or keep on track so I knew I would need help, that's when I contacted the other half of WildEra, Mercedes."
Mercedes joins the team,
"I had big plans for 2020. I had been out of the work force for over three years. I left my job when I learned I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, and spent time focusing on school and my family. I made it through marketing research and finally graduated with my degree, and I was finally ready to get back to work, to push myself to grow my talent, to start pursuing my dream. But then 2020 actually came, and it brought Covid. The daycare options around me closed down, so there was no place for my toddler to go during the day. Then the schools shut down, and we had to start remote learning, and someone needed to handle that... so I resigned myself to waiting another year before I could go back out into the world, and I devoted myself to making sure school went smoothly for my daughter, and that my toddler was happy and learning too. When Amanda came to me with her idea to launch a soap company, I agreed immediately! A job where I could work from home, and set my own hours? A job where I could be both a mom and a marketing department as needed? It seemed too good to be true. I had hoped for a chance to display my talent, grow my skills, and finally get a chance to use the education I had earned. Now I plan to be the public facing member of the Moon Washed team. I plan to utilize my knowledge of design, marketing, and social media to boost our company into becoming the household name it deserves to be. I hope all of you decide to come along for this incredible journey!"
